Paneer Jalfrezi, Naan, and Daal

Paneer, cut into jenga-like batons. It’s much more fun playing paneer jenga — the loser has to cook the game, while you get to eat your game.

Veggies and paneer get together for a quick two-minute toss — and a riot of colour.

In other news, daal makhani is bubbling away on the side. Of course, a slab of butter gets involved to put the ‘makhan’ in makhani.

In yet other news, fresh naans get rolled out — naan-stop fun.

Making naan at home is so rewarding – second to naan.

Always have homemade naan – Jab tak hai naan. (OK, enough naan puns!)

Naan hai to jahaan hai.

Naans are simple to make: plain flour, yoghurt, sugar, salt, ghee, and baking soda. And anything you like for its topping: garlic, coriander, sesame seeds, nigella seeds...and, naturally, slatherings of butter. Charred edges, fluffy inside. Heaven.

If that was not enough naansense, here's another naan joke: this guy in America ran out of bread; he went to his Indian neighbour to ask if he had any bread. The neighbour said, 'sorry, I have naan'.

(OK. Done 🙂).

This meal’s best paired with a quick and refreshing onion ring and shredded cucumber salad.
